SOCCER - THE ONLY GAME

The Collierville Soccer Association's Cougars Soccer Program is a seasonal, competitive soccer program for Collierville boys and girls. Cougars is designed for the player who has moved beyond Recreational soccer. The Cougars program stresses player development. The program has two goals: to develop a player's skills and conditioning and provide a format for players of similar talents to enjoy the sport of soccer from U10 and older. Many talented Cougars players chose to expand their soccer experience by participating in the Lobos program while others continue to develop and enjoy Cougars soccer. The program is designed to ensure that players of varying skill levels will have an opportunity to play competitive soccer. Cougars is ideal for those children who play several sports. Cougars teams are coached by licensed volunteers under the direction of both the CSA Director of Coaching and the Cougars Director. The teams will play in the Memphis Shelby Soccer Federation league, which plays its games at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex.. Teams are registered as either Div II or Div III. Cougars teams might travel to one out of town tournament each season and often compete in the Tennessee Soccer Tournament. Cougars' fees include separate skills and conditioning training by licensed professional both in- season and off-season.

Cougars was founded in 2003 with one team and continues to grow. At present, there are twelve Cougars teams. Along with the sister competitive program - Lobos - the club has developed a system that seeks to ensure players are placed on teams commensurate with their skill level in order to promote development and confidence. Collierville soccer competitive players are passionate about the game of soccer and committed to achieve their best through focused training, camaraderie with their teammates, promote respect for their coaches and loyalty to the club.

Team Formation and Commitment:

Cougars teams will be formed on a season-to-season basis, and a full year financial commitment is not required. Age specific teams will be formed based upon number of qualified players and coaches available at open Cougars Try-Outs. CSA cannot guarantee enough players will be available to form teams in all age groups. League games are scheduled by MSSF administrators and although every effort is made by CSA to consult with MSSF regarding bracketing, CSA makes every effort to ensure parity of competition.
